Volunteerism is important to CenterPoint Energy and its employees and has long been at the core of our company's culture. As a result of our proven track record in giving and volunteerism, CenterPoint Energy has been recognized by several national organizations, including The Civic 50 and CECP. In 2020, our employees contributed nearly 42,000 hours of volunteer time in our communities.
Our Volunteer Grant program provides an annual grant for employees and retirees who volunteer 40 or more hours with a single non-profit organization in a calendar year. In 2020, more than 100 employees and retirees requested volunteer grants for the organizations where they generously donated their time.
Our employees volunteer and support the community through volunteer and corporate-sponsored events with area nonprofit organizations including, but not limited to: Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, Salvation Army, and United Way.
