Help save money and energy on installation of residential solar system

#

CenterPoint Energy is excited to provide incentives to participating service providers who install new solar photovoltaic systems on homes within CenterPoint’s Houston Electric service territory. These incentives can help offset the initial cost of installation for customers, helping them see a quicker return on investment. This program can help meet cost-effective reduction goals in peak demand on the electric grid and is designed to be simple and beneficial for customers and service providers.

Customer Incentives:
$135/kW*
*per rated DC System Size
incentives capped at 15kW

Is your home eligible?

  • Homes must be located within CenterPoint's Houston Electric service territory.
  • Only existing single-family homes may participate.
  • New home construction projects and existing photovoltaic installation are not eligible to participate or receive incentives.
  • Participating customers must sign an interconnection agreement with CenterPoint as part of the installation process.

Incentives for residential solar photovoltaic systems are dependent on the size of the system installed. Selected service providers should provide recommendations on installation size for your home, calculate the corresponding qualifying incentives for the system and provide the incentive as a credit on your installation invoice.

For details on any buy-back programs offered for the customer to earn electricity billing credits for unused, excess generation exported to the grid, please contact your current Retail Electricity Provider.

Important note: CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric is not a party to the agreement between the participating customer and their installation service provider (installer). The installer is solely responsible for the performance of the work and contract fulfillment. This is not a direct-to-customer program. Funding provided by CenterPoint for this program is approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas in support of statewide energy efficiency efforts.
