CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are continuing the lane shift from 23rd to 42nd Avenues N. for the remaining natural gas work and restoration. Residential and business access will be maintained.
Crews from Minnesota Limited are completing the natural gas work today. This includes connecting the new main to the existing intersecting ones. By the end of the week of November 2, they will have removed their equipment from the Winnetka Avenue 2020 Belt Line Project route.
On November 2 and 3, crews from Q3 Contracting will mill and overlay the northbound lanes from 23rd to 36th Avenues N. The crews will provide access to polling locations for Election Day.

The crews are continuing the lane shift from Medicine Lake Road to 42nd Avenue N. Residential and business access will be maintained. Flaggers have been placed to assist each crew.
By October 28, the crews anticipate finishing the project’s natural gas work. This includes connecting the new main to the existing intersecting ones. In the middle of the week of October 26, the crews will return to Faribault Street for a connection. This will involve a northbound lane closure.
Today, the crews are paving from the 3800 block to 40th Avenue N. The traffic control from Medicine Lake Road to the north has remained in place for a mill and overlay. The mill schedule will continue to be updated on this page.

The crews are continuing the lane shift from Medicine Lake Road to 42nd Avenue N. Residential and business access will be maintained. Flaggers have been placed to assist each crew.
Last week, the crews paved from 36th to 38th ½ Avenues N. The next paving is planned for October 23. Traffic control from Medicine Lake Road to the north has remained in place for the planned mill and overlay scheduled for the north lanes on October 26 and 27.
By October 28, depending on weather, the crews plan to finish the project’s natural gas work. This includes replacing the final portion of the main and connecting it to the existing intersecting mains. The crews will connect the new main at 23rd Avenue N. Restoration will follow.

The crews will pave from the 3400 block to 3620 Winnetka Avenue N. tomorrow on Friday, October 9. On Saturday, October 10, the crews plan to reopen the intersection of 36th Avenue N. and Winnetka Avenue N. to traffic.
The next planned paving will happen on October 15.
The traffic control from Medicine Lake Road to the north has remained in place for the planned mill and overlay scheduled for the north lanes for October 22 and 23.

Tomorrow on Friday, September 25, crews from Q3 Contracting will pave from Medicine Lake Road to 30th Avenue N. Within the week of September 28, the crews plan to remove traffic control devices from Medicine Lake Road to 32nd Avenue N. when the restoration is complete in this area.
Between October 5 and 12, the crews plan cross 36th Avenue N. During this time, a detour route will lead drivers to Winnetka Avenue, Medicine Lake Road, Douglas Drive and back to 36th Avenue N. Drivers can turn north and south onto Winnetka Avenue if they are coming from eastbound 36th Avenue N.
On October 5, they will begin milling from 38th ½ Lane N. to 42nd Avenue N.

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are continuing to work. One crew from Minnesota Limited is just south of Terra Linda Drive, working north to 29th Avenue. A second crew is crossing 32nd Avenue N. today, working north.
Crews from Q3 Contracting are working in the following places: On Friday they paved Winnetka Avenue from 2020 Winnetka Avenue to Medicine Lake Road. Today on September 15, they are restoring the dirt and grass seed on the northwestern corner of Plymouth and Winnetka Avenues and on 23rd and Winnetka Avenues. On September 17, the crews plan to pave Winnetka Avenue from 30th to 32nd Avenues.

Tomorrow on Friday, September 11, Winnetka Avenue is scheduled to be paved from Medicine Lake Road to 23rd Avenue N. Traffic control south of Medicine Lake Road will be removed after paving.
Beginning Monday, September 14, the crews anticipate paving 32nd Avenue N. on September 17 and reopening it by the end of the day on September 18.
On September 14, the crews will mill Winnetka Avenue from 32nd to 38th ½ Avenues N. Traffic control will be extended to 38th ½ Avenue N. The crews will skip 36th Avenue N. with the mill until they are ready to cross.

Flaggers have been placed to assist each crew. Winnetka Avenue from Medicine Lake Road to 23rd Avenue N. is scheduled to be paved on September 11. Traffic control south of Medicine Lake Road will be removed as soon as possible after paving.
Lane shifts at Winnetka Avenue N. and Plymouth Avenue will be removed by noon tomorrow on September 4.
The next mill is scheduled for Monday, September 14. This will go from 32nd to 36th Avenues N. Pre-warning signs were posted this past Monday. The crews anticipate paving 32nd Avenue N. on September 17 and reopening it by end of the day on September 18.

The crews are continuing the lane shift on Winnetka Avenue from Plymouth Avenue to Medicine Lake Road. Flagging crews have been placed with the natural gas crews for working hours.
The crews are continuing the lane shift on Medicine Lake Road just west of Winnetka Avenue. This lane shift will be removed on Monday, August 17, in the afternoon.
On August 17, the crews will close the western half of the intersection of Medicine Lake Road and Winnetka Avenue. During this time, northbound and southbound traffic will be open on Winnetka Avenue. Drivers heading eastbound on Medicine Lake Road can turn north or south onto Winnetka Avenue, but drivers can’t cross Winnetka Avenue heading east or west. The crews will continue the lane shift on Winnetka Avenue to the south side of 32nd Avenue N.
The crews are continuing the lane shift on Winnetka Avenue and 36th Avenue N. This lane shift will be removed on Tuesday, August 18, in the afternoon.

Crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing the lane shift on Winnetka Avenue from Plymouth Avenue to Medicine Lake Road. Flagging crews will be present during working hours, maintaining northbound and southbound traffic on Winnetka Avenue.
From August 12 to 14, there will be a lane shift on Medicine Lake Road just west of Winnetka Avenue. From August 17 to 19 or 20, there will be a lane closure on Winnetka Avenue just south of 36th Avenue N. and just south of 42nd Avenue N. Two-way traffic will be maintained.
Closure at eastern part of Winnetka and Medicine Lake Road

In the week of August 10, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will begin work at Plymouth Avenue and portions of Sumter Avenue, in conjunction with our ongoing project on Winnetka Avenue.
Parking on Plymouth and driveway access to certain residents’ driveways may be limited. Crews will coordinate with homeowners as needed throughout the duration of the project.
This project is anticipated to last through early September.

Michels Corporation’s progress
Correction:Phase 2 will be finished within the week of August 3. During that week, the crews will finish connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main. They will also put the existing natural gas main out of service.
Minnesota Limited’s progress
The crews are continuing the lane shift on Winnetka Avenue from Plymouth Avenue to Medicine Lake Road. The flagging crews have been placed with the natural gas crews for working hours.
Tomorrow on Friday, July 31, the crews will excavate at Plymouth Avenue. In the week of August 3, the crews will test the natural gas main’s pressure for the first phase of installed main from 10th to 23rd Avenues N. They will test the pressure before connecting the new main to the existing intersecting ones.
Beginning on August 5 and lasting for about two weeks, the crews will re-set the lane shift on 10th Avenue N. just east of Winnetka Avenue to perform the testing and the connecting.
Beginning on August 17 and lasting for about two weeks, the crews will cross Medicine Lake Road. During this time, northbound and southbound traffic will remain on Winnetka Avenue. Eastbound traffic on Medicine Lake Road will be closed just east of Winnetka Avenue.

Crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing the lane shift on Winnetka Avenue from Plymouth Avenue to Medicine Lake Road. The first crew is crossing Winnetka Heights Drive, working north toward the vault at 23rd Avenue N. The second crew is installing intermediate piping and regulator loops on 23rd Avenue N.
Through traffic will be maintained. The cross roads will remain open until we need to excavate. Residential access will be maintained. Flagging crews have been placed with each crew for working hours. Through traffic is being maintained, although delays may occur.

One crew is working at Plymouth and Winnetka Avenues, working on connecting natural gas mains to the natural gas vault. Another crew is at Duluth Street, working north to replace the natural gas main.
The paving began yesterday on July 1 due to rain earlier in the week. On July 6, traffic control will be shortened from 10th Street N. to Plymouth Avenue. From July 6 to 7, the milling is scheduled on Winnetka Avenue from Duluth Street to Medicine Lake Road. On July 14, the crews will pave at Winnetka and Plymouth Avenues. Once cured, the road will be reopened up to Duluth Street.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, continued to replace the natural gas main along Winnetka Avenue between 28th and 30th Avenues. They also began connecting the new main to the existing intersecting ones at Medicine Lake Road and Terra Linda Drive.
Week of July 29
This week, the crews are continuing to work along Winnetka Avenue between 28th and 30th Avenues, and they are continuing the main connections at the following streets: 28th, 29th, 30th, Medicine Lake Road and Terra Linda Drive. Crews from Q3 Contracting, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, have been restoring the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work between 23rd Avenue and Winnetka Avenue. The service line connections are complete in this area.

Although the paving in this area was scheduled for June 29 and 30, the crews have pushed back the date to July 1 and 2 due to rain on June 29.

What will happen at Winnetka Ave. & Plymouth Ave.?
From mid-July to late August, the crews will perform work at the intersection of Plymouth and Winnetka Avenues. During this time, they will replace the natural gas mains, upgrade natural gas vaults, and perform work on the storm sewers and sidewalk. The curbline will be extended to 20 feet west of the driveway of 1224 Winnetka Ave. with a pedestrian access ramp at Plymouth Ave. on the east side of Winnetka Ave.
During active construction, the dead end of Plymouth Ave. will be closed. The crews will work with residents on local access or driveway closures as needed.

Crews from Minnesota Limited, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing the lane shift on Winnetka Avenue from 10th to Duluth Street. Through traffic will be maintained. Cross roads will remain open until we need to we need to excavate. Residential access will be maintained. Flagging crews have been placed with each crew for working hours. One crew is working at Plymouth and Winnetka Avenues installing the natural gas main and preparing for the vault installation, which will take place on June 29. Another crew is between Wesley Drive and Duluth Street, working north to replace the natural gas main.
On June 30, the crews will pave the east side of Winnetka Avenue from Faribault Avenue to about 400 feet south of Duluth Avenue. They are skipping a 200-foot section at Plymouth Avenue. The milling is scheduled for July 6 and 7 on Winnetka Avenue from Duluth Street to Medicine Lake Road.

Natural gas main replacements
This week crews from Michels Corporation continued to replace the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue from 30th Avenue to Terra Linda Avenue. Traffic control has the two middle lanes closed, reducing the road to a one lane two-way figuration. Next week, the crew will continue to replace the natural gas main on the following cross streets along Winnetka Avenue: 30th Avenue, 29th Avenue, 28th Avenue, and Terra Linda Avenue. Traffic control during this side street work will shift drivers to the opposite side of the road.
Service line connections
The same traffic control will be in place along Winnetka Avenue from 23rd Avenue to Medicine Lake Road. On June 20, the crews will begin connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main. Beginning June 22, there will be a lane shift on the north side of Medicine Lake Road, reducing the east and west traffic to a one-lane two-way configuration. The crews will work in the most northbound lane of Medicine Lake Road. The crews will work on this section of pipe for most if not all of next week.
Paving
From 7 a.m. on June 29 to 6 p.m. on June 30, the crews will pave the east side of Winnetka Avenue from Faribault Street to Duluth Street. Access to properties’ driveways on the east side of Winnetka Avenue will be unavailable during this time. Please find alternate parking. We appreciate your patience as we continue to upgrade our natural gas lines and restore the affected roads for traffic.

Michels Corporation’s progress
Last week, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, replaced the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue from 23rd Avenue N. to Medicine Lake Road and on 23rd Avenue N. east and west of the Winnetka Avenue intersection. Within the next few weeks, the crews will return to this area to connect the natural gas service lines to these new mains.
This week the crews replaced the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue from 32nd to 30th Avenues. Two-way traffic is shifted and being maintained in the northbound lanes. They are also crossing Medicine Lake Road and working north on Winnetka Avenue N. toward Terra Linda Drive. Then they will connect the new natural gas main to the existing intersecting ones east and west on Medicine Lake Road.
Next week, the crews will continue south toward Medicine Lake Road, at which point the traffic control will merge with the other crew’s set-up that is working north from Medicine Lake Road.

What is a ZEVAC unit?
As part of a comprehensive strategy to minimize methane emissions from its pipeline system, CenterPoint Energy is deploying an innovative new technology called Zero Emission Vacuum and Compressor (ZEVAC). Last week on this project, crews used a ZEVAC unit to remove natural gas from one pipe and transfer it into another. This process avoids the need to release gas into the air. Nearby residents may hear some additional noise from the ZEVAC unit’s operation. For more information on ZEVAC and its benefits, please click here.

These crossings will require flaggers. The crews will also activate the new main from 23rd Avenue N. to Medicine Lake Road at the end of the week of June 15. The crews are also working on 23rd Avenue N. east of Winnetka Avenue N.

The crews are continuing to replace the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue N. with a lane shift. They are also continuing to locate existing underground utilities with utility flags in areas where they will soon be working.

They will begin replacing the second of two natural gas mains at 10th Avenue N., working north to Duluth Avenue N. In this stretch, they will work here for a few months before moving further north. During this time, the crews will maintain two-way traffic with a lane shift and sidewalk closure where active construction is occurring.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, have replaced the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue’s project route north of 36th Avenue NE and on 36th Avenue NE. The traffic control devices are removed except for a lane closure just north of 36th Avenue NE.
In the week of May 25 after Memorial Day, the crews will continue to replace the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue toward 32nd Avenue NE. There will be a lane shift on Winnetka Avenue in this area. There will be no left turns out of 35th Avenue NE, and the crews will close Win Park Drive.
Also in the week of May 25 after Memorial Day, the crews will begin connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main, following the main crew’s route.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing to replace the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue from 40th to 37th Avenues N. Currently the crews have shifted two-way traffic into the northbound lanes.
In the week of May 18, the crews will continue working in this area until they’ve connected the new main to the existing intersecting ones. Then they’ll continue moving south to 35th Avenue N. and Winpark Drive with their main replacement. Two-way traffic will be maintained while the crews work in the middle lanes.

Until approximately May 12, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing to replace the natural gas main at the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and 36th Avenue N. Although four-way traffic will be maintained during construction, drivers should be aware that the intersection configuration will change and should take precautions when in the area. By May 12, crews from Q3 Contracting, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, plan to restore the intersection.
In the week of May 11, the crews will connect the new natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue at the intersections of 40th Avenue, Quebec Avenue, 38 1/2 Avenue, and 37th Avenue. Drivers should anticipate multiple lane shifts, which are possible to change daily as the crew works on different intersections. Traffic will be reduced to a one-lane, two-way configuration, at the same time being shifted to the opposite side of the work area.

This week and into the week of May 4, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing to replace the natural gas main at the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and 36th Avenue N. Although four-way traffic will be maintained during construction, drivers should be aware that the intersection configuration will change and should take precautions when in the area. In the week of May 4, the crews will add more traffic limitations to the intersection, continuing to maintain four-way traffic. Some turning lanes will be limited during this time.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, replaced the natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue from 42nd to 36th Avenues N. Currently the crews have a lane shift on Winnetka Avenue from 38th ½ Avenue N. to Win Park Drive.
Next week the crew is planning on crossing the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and 36th Avenue N. to replace the natural gas main. Although four-way traffic will be maintained during construction, drivers should be aware that the intersection configuration will change and to take precautions when in the area.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are replacing natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue from 42nd to 37th Avenues N. In the week of April 20, the crews will remove the traffic control devices from 42nd to 40th Avenues N. and set up the devices from 40th to a couple hundred feet south of 36th Avenue N. While the crews work on these blocks, two-way traffic will be maintained with lane shifts.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are continuing to replace natural gas main on Winnetka Avenue. Currently the crews are between 38th ½ Avenue and 40th Avenue and will continue to work here into the week of April 13. Two-way traffic is being maintained with a lane shift in this area. The crews are working south toward Medicine Lake Road.
