Mankato - 2nd Street N. - Project Updates

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are finishing the project’s 2020 work. Crews from Michels Corporation finished the natural gas work. Crews from Q3 Contracting have been restoring the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. Since the weather isn’t conducive for permanent restoration, the crews have been temporarily restoring the areas with winter erosion control. In 2021, they will return for permanent restoration.

Crews from Q3 Contracting are following Michels Corporation’s route, restoring the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.

Crews from Michels Corporation plan to finish the project’s natural gas work in approximately three weeks. Within one week, the crews anticipate finishing the service line connections to the new main. Within the remaining two weeks, the crews anticipate putting the existing natural gas mains out of service.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are finishing the project’s natural gas main work today. The crews are continuing to connect the natural gas service lines to the new main.

The crews will remove the signs from the sidewalks from N. Broad Street between Madison Avenue and Rock Street, and from Rock Street E. between Riverfront Drive N. and 2nd Street N. The crews will also remove the signs from the lane closure on Rock Street just south of Riverfront Drive N.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are currently replacing the natural gas main on Rock Street E. from N. Broad Street to just west of Riverfront Drive N. The crews have closed the south sidewalks to accommodate the work.

This week, they are replacing the main on the west side of Broad Street N. from Madison Avenue to south of Vine Street E. There is a sidewalk closure on the west side of Broad Street N. between Madison Avenue and Vine Street E.

In the week of September 7 after Labor Day, the crews plan to finish the project’s main replacements.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, are connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main along E. Rock Street between 4th and 5th Streets N. The project’s service line connections north of Madison Street have been completed. The remaining natural gas main installations are expected to finish within the week of August 31.

On August 24, a crew from Michels Corporation will begin connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main on 4th Street N. Crews from Q3 Contracting are following, restoring the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work. Currently Q3 Contracting is on 2nd Street N.

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are continuing to work in Mankato. Crews from Michels Corporation connected the natural gas service lines to the new main on 5th Street N. from Madison to Lime Streets. Currently the crews are working on Lime Street. Crews from Q3 Contracting are following, restoring the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, have replaced the project’s natural gas mains north of Madison Street. Currently the crews are replacing the natural gas main on 4th Street N., working south from Madison Street. When they are done with the main replacements on that street, they will work on Broad Street.

This week, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, began connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main. They are starting on 5th Street N., working north.

A crew from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, is replacing the natural gas main on 5th Street. In the week of August 3, the crew will begin replacing the main on Madison with a lane shift. Another Michels Corporation crew is following the main crew to connect the natural gas service lines to the new main.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, have begun replacing the natural gas main on 2nd Street N., working south from Mabel to Thompson Streets.

From mid-July to late fall 2020, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors will perform work in Mankato along the project’s selected streets between Willow Street and 6th Street N. and between Mabel and Washington Streets. Michels Corporation will replace natural gas mains, connect natural gas service lines to the installed mains, and move any inside residential meters to the outside of homes. Q3 Contracting will restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.
