Hastings - 15th Street West - Project Updates

CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractors are progressing on the job. Crews from Michels Corporation have completed the project’s natural gas main work. Crews from Q3 Contracting will follow to restore the areas affected by Michels Corporation’s work.

Crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, have replaced the project’s natural gas main. The crews are currently connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main on 15th Street W. from Hillside Street to Pleasant Drive.

The crews have installed the new gas main on 15th Street W. from Pine Street to Hillside Street. In a few weeks, the crew will return to finish the main replacement on 15th Street W. from Hillside Street to Pleasant Drive. They will be working on another CenterPoint Energy project in the meantime.

On April 12, the crew will begin connecting service lines to the new main. Residents should expect a door knock, door tag or phone call to schedule an appointment. The crew will start at Pine Street working west. Lane and parking closures will occur in areas of active construction.

As of Friday, April 2, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, has replaced the natural gas main on 15th Street W. from Pine Street to Lyn Way. This week, the crews will replace the main from Lyn Way to Hillside Street. Most of this work will take place on the north side of 15th Street W.

This week, the crews will begin to connect the natural gas service lines to the new main, starting at Pine Street and heading west. Homeowners will be contacted by the crews to schedule this work. Residents with any irrigation systems or privately-installed utilities are requested to mark them. Marking can be done with flags or spray paint.

Traffic control will restrict parking on the north side of 15th Street W. Two-way traffic will be maintained on 15th Street W.

Within the week of April 5, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will continue to replace the project’s natural gas main toward Pleasant Drive. After the new natural gas main is activated, the crews will begin connecting the natural gas service lines to the new main. If the resident’s meter is on the inside of the house, the crews will notify the resident to schedule an appointment to move the meter outside.

On Monday, March 29, crews from Michels Corporation, CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, will begin replacing the project’s natural gas mains. They will start on 15th Street W. at Pine Street, working west.
