Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative Progress Update

#

The first phase of CenterPoint Energy’s Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative is focused on a series of immediate actions to improve resiliency, including installing more storm-resilient poles, trimming or removing higher-risk vegetation, and installing automated devices to reduce the number of storm-related outages. To help keep our customers informed, we are providing updates on our progress as we work to become the most resilient coastal grid in the country.

As of Aug. 11, we have successfully completed the installation of over 300 automation devices as part of the first phase of our Greater Houston Resiliency Initiative. Our CenterPoint team purposely prioritized these critical upgrades, which can help to reduce outages from major storms, during the first 11 days of our August push to strengthen the grid this hurricane season. We want to again thank our customers for their support and patience as we continue to conduct this important resiliency work across our community, and for our customers, that we are privileged to serve.
